PHOTOGRAPHERS

Born in 1965 in Avignon, vincentb. had set out to do nothing with his life, and succeeded in

doing so until an advanced age. At 33, he gave in through weakness and began to make a lot

of images and a few children (three). Today only photographing people in their natural space,

he is with Hikaru Ushizima at the origin of the chamber 5 collective.

This group composed of Charles Thomas (deceased in 1999), Jana Caslavska, Ethan

Lichtenfeld, Hikaru Ushizima and vincentb. bringing together photographers who persist in

working in the street.

Without any pompous ambition (“If you have a message to convey, use the post office”, said

Godard), their sole desire is to surprise themselves. This group of friends multiplies the most

hazardous collaborations, the most disorganized group trips and the experimentations (even

the most desperate). They respect a strict charter, the “code of conduct of room 5”, which

allows them almost everything, except to live serenely from their idleness
